Welcome to
The Meditation On A Verse
Our Rabbis of old would meditate on verses for days, sometimes for weeks, to extract the true meaning of the text. This meditation, similar to that of the Rabbis, is yours to practice in any way that makes the most sense to you. Try to spend a short time with it each week until you become more accustomed to the effects it produces, then you could go on for longer practice sessions. We hope it becomes of great value to you.
Select any one verse, on this weeks page, that seems particularly relevant to you.
Read it over carefully two or three times to extract its purpose.
Choose one question, from all the choices on this week’s page, which is personally meaningful to you.
Relax your body to the best of your ability, take a long deep breath and let it out slowly.
Focus your attention on the selected question.
Stay with that question in mind until the words simply dissolve into the silence.
Listen carefully to the silence for a while. (2-3 minutes)
Try to discern new meanings that may have arisen from the questions.
You can repeat this meditation
for as many times as necessary to arrive at an answer, or move on to another
question.
